Isaiah 57, Isaiah 58, Isaiah 59, Psalm 103, 2 Peter 3
Scripture:
Psalm 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Observation:
I love this Psalm, it reveals the Father heart of God. God's love for me is so great I will only begin to comprehend it when i stand before Him. His forgiveness is so powerful it removes my sins as far as the east is from the west. God does not appease my sins, He removes them, and makes me clean. What an incredible gift of forgiveness God gave me in His Son.
Application:
I am a child of God. In 1 Peter 2, God calls me chosen, royal priesthood, a holy nation, His people. What an honor to be a child of God. It is so easy for me to forget who I truly am. I have been blessed with the promises of heaven. I have the power of the Holy Spirit in my life. He guides me and leads me in the way of Christ. I am grateful this morning as I reflect on the Father heart of God. He is so patient with me, always waiting for me to turn back to His ways, always teaching and molding me. Always loving and forgiving me. God's mercies truly are new every morning. I am blessed to have God in my life, He truly is my treasure, He truly is all I need.
Prayer:
Father thank You for the simple, yet life changing reminder that You love and forgive me. Thank You for the restoring power of forgiveness and grace. I am clean, washed and made righteous through the blood of Jesus. Guide me today in the steps You have planned for me. Holy Spirit speak to me. Father I pray for wisdom today, blessing and the discernment to know Your will. Bless my pastor today and refresh him. speak to him. I pray for Cindy and I today. Give us wisdom and patience. Give us peace in this season to know Your will and to obey. I bind the spirit of restlessness. Keep us focused on what is in front of us and may we do all we do with excellence. Bless this day. I pray for the missions teams and ask You to prepare their hearts. Use us for Your glory. I thank You for the opportunity to bless the lives of others. It is an honor.
Amen.

Imitate Jesus
2 Kings 20; Isaiah 39, Isaiah39, Psalm 75, 1 Peter 2
Scripture:
1 Peter 2:21To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
22"He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth." 23When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
Observation:
As a Christian i am called to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I am called to imitate Him and as Romans declares, I am to put on Christ. Follow Jesus is not always easy, especially when it comes to being wrongfully accused or gossiped about. Yet Jesus took the insults of man, the judgments, the false accusations, the injustice given to Him. Jesus turned to His Father and trusted Him.
Application:
This passage and Ps. Wayne's teachings on emotional control have been speaking to me on letting go and trusting God. It is so easy when you read it, but hard when you have to walk through it. God is calling me to trust Him. To trust Him with my fears, my opinions of what people think, the gossip or looks, the lack of afirmation. God is my source of affirmation. God is my source of love, devotion, approval and He holds me in His hand. No man can do anyting to me. God is for me, and I need to deflect defensive behaviors to Him. As Pastor Wayne declares, "You got to flush out negative thoughts and not let them into your heart." I want people to see Jesus in my life. I want them to see Jesus in me in the tough times as much as the good. I am blessed to have Jesus in my life, I am blessed to know that Jesus will go before me and work it out.
Prayer:
Thank You Father that You are my source and my provider. Thank You that I can turn to You to strengthen me and guide me through seasons in the desert. I know that I am in a desert season now, but it is good. I know You are molding me and preparing me for something new. Work in me and anoint me for your work. I pray for a new anointing, a new ability to do the supernatural with miracles. Father give me wisdom to lead and to know Your will. I pray for the missions trips and the fianacnes needed. I pray for every donation packet and pray You speak to those who have them. May we meet the need and do great things in Your name. Bless every studetn going and prepare them. I pray for breakthrough and miracles. I pray for broken hearts and for healing. Bless my home Lord, bless my wife. Thank You for her. Bless my Pastor's and refresh them on their trip. I pray for my friend Josh and Michelle, and I ask You to bless them.
Amen.

Trials
Isaiah 29, Isaiah 30, Isaiah 31; James 1
Scripture:
James 1: 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
Observation:
Trials are never fun. I am yet to meet someone who is going through a trial with laughter. After the trial, or season in the desert, one laughs and realizes the growth, but during the trial, one is broken and stretched. Being stretched is not easy, but it is necessary. One pastor said that God's stretches us so that there may be more room for His presence in our lives. I love how the book of James declares that trials mature a person.
Application:
I know that I am growing through trials. It still is not easy to go through, and the trials are tougher and more painful, but my attitude has changed. I used to go into trials kicking and screaming, mad at God, living with a lousy attitude. Now I see the value of trials, I see that time spent in the desert matures me and molds me into the man God has called me to be. It is amazing how every great man of God went through a desert. Moses, he killed an Egyptian, dwelt with stubborn and rebellious Israel, spent 40 years in desert. Joseph, he spent 12 years in jail, was sold by his brothers into slavery. David, great heart, but hated by Saul, fell in adultery, had an innocent man killed. We all go through trials, and sometimes we fail, but praise be to God who always leads us into victory. God will always work things out. I am glad that God is working in me and I am blessed that I am becoming the man He has called me too.
Prayer:
Father thank You for guiding my life and for leading me to victory. I pray for forgiveness of my sins. I thank You for trials and the growth they have produced in my life. I know that a man is refined and shaped in the fire. Fire is not fun, it burnt, but one comes out better. I pray for wisdom today and for Your word to rest on me. Give me Your word and anointing as I share tonight. I pray for our youth and ask You to do a great work in them. I pray for the finances still needed for the missions trips. I pray for every donation packet that is out there and I ask You to speak to people. May every kid that needs sponsorship go. I believe You will make a way. Thank You for my wife, bless her and refresh her today. Give her the energy to do Your work today.
Amen.

'Right Time'
Isaiah 25, Isaiah 26, Isaiah 27, Isaiah 28, Hebrews 13
Scripture:
Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.
Hebrews 13: 5Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you." 6So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?"
Observation:
What great reminders and promises this morning that God is my Source. He has planned out my life and He is leading me in the path He has for me. There is a warning though to keep my eyes and heart from being bound by money and material things. I am to enjoy the blessing of the Lord over my life and to live each and every day content. Knowing that He that begun a work in me will complete it.
Application:
Michael Pitts once preached a message and eluded to the fact that Jesus was always on time. The scripture declares at many miracles the words, 'at the hour, or the time of day.' Jesus was never late, He was never early, He was always at the 'right time'. I believe God is calling me to live in the now. To live in the 'right time'. To live in step with His spirit and voice. To walk in this 'right time' takes discernment, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, devotion and obedience. These four keys to walking in God are areas the Spirit is convicting me in. I desire the things of God, I hunger to be in step with Him, yet so much of my flesh holds me back. I know I am in a season of separation and the calling is louder than ever. God is preparing me to be His man. I love how Hebrews 13:6 ends, "What can man do to me?" I still have a lot of man's opinions and views holding me back. I know this is the season of me walking out my calling. That does not mean I do not submit to my leaders. I am to faithfully serve in the position God has appointed me too, but at the same time, I am n a molding phase. I am excited to be in this season. I am excited as I sense I am getting closer to being in the 'right time' with God. Who knows what is next? God does! And if He does, then He is preparing me for it. As for me, I live for the now. I live for what God has for me today. May today be a God day in my life!
Prayer:
Father I ask You to forgive me of my sins and my fears. Remove from me the fear of man. You are my Rock. You are my Source, my Master and You hold me in the palm of Your hand. Lead me today and give me the wisdom and discernment to know Your will. Holy Spirit lead me to the 'right time' place. I want to be in tune and in step with God. Father bless this day, thank You for washing me clean. Renew my mind and help me to live out of the salvation which Jesus gave to me. Bless my wife, my home and my finances. I pray for restoration, elevation and multiplication. I love You Lord.
Amen.

Faith and Vision
Isaiah 19, Isaiah 20, Isaiah 21, Hebrews 11
Scripture:
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for. 3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Observation:
Faith in God, faith in His kingdom, promises, provision and supernatural power, pleases Him. God commends people of faith. People were committed and walked in His ways. Hebrews 11 is known as the Hall of Faith. All the men and woman of God who did incredible exploits, yet all these were done through faith in the vision God had given them. Vision needs faith, faith needs vision.
Application:
As i look at the Hall of Faith, I see men and woman who stepped out in incredible faith, believing God for the impossible, dream big dreams. They all made changes in there lives, and walked in the ways of God. Even Rahab, the prostitute walked away from her sinful ways to follow the Lord. I know the vision before me, it seems impossible, and in the natural it is. That's why I love Hebrews 11, it reminds me that the vision I see is impossible in the natural, but in the spirit it is totally doable. Vision from God always comes from the spirit and in time manifest's itself in the natural. The key to unlockig the vision, or seeing it shift from one realm to the next is faith. Consistant, steady, committed faith! I only have to look back on my life to see te faithfulness of God and the faith I placed in Him. God has always come through. God always makes a way. As i move forward in my life, I am blessed to know that God will open and close doors. I know my life is His and He is calling the shots. My obedience must stay the course, my faith must be streched, and my eyes ever on the Lord. Today is a new day, and I am one step closer to the vision.
Prayer:
Father thank You that through You all things are possible to them that beleive. Father i believe. I speak the vision You have given me. I speak to the nations. I speak to the anointing over my life. I speak to my identity and I call all of these to line up to Your will for my life. I thank You for Your continued faithfulness and blessing. Protect my heart, my mind and my spirit. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. I ask for wisdom today, give me the strength to face today's challenges. I pray for favor, help me to grow in favor and influence. I ask for discernement to know Your will and to respond accordingly. Father thank You for a blessed day. I pray for restoration, elevation and multiplication. Bless my wife, our home and ministries today.
Amen.

Thank You Jesus
Isaiah 15, Isaiah 16, Isaiah 17, Isaiah 18, Hebrews 10
Scripture:
Hebrews 10:10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:17 Then he adds:
"Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more."
Observation:
What a great reminder of the incredible prize Jesus paid for my sins. He made me holy through the sacrificing off Himself. I am a child of God because of the faithfulness of Jesus. No need for legalism any more. The law of sin and death has been fulfilled, and now I can live in the freedom of God. God has washed me clean and my sins are no more. God does not hold my sins against me, He forgets them, and removes them forever. Though the devil tries to remind me of my sin, God over rules him and declares it never happened.
Application:
As i read today's passage, I am so grateful for Jesus. He died for my sins and took my place. I deserved eternal damnation, but the grace and mercy of God has saved me. I have a Mediator, One who goes before me and prepares the way. One Who shepherds me, and provides for me. Greater love can no man truly no than that of Jesus Christ. I am challenged today to live and walk in the freedom that cost Him so much. Someone once said, "The greatest gift you can ever give Jesus, is your life each and every day." May I live for Him daily.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You! Thank You for washing me clean. Thank You for enduring the cross, the shame and the pain for my salvation. I ask You to forgive me for being selfish and ungrateful through the actions of my lifestyle. Change my heart. I want to be a man that lives for You every second of his life. I pray that You would wash me clean and that You would renew my mind. Guide me as I walk in a difficult season. Help me to point people to You. Give me the wisdom to see through the fog, and to know Your will and direction. I pray for humility and peace to rule my heart. Thank You for choosing me, thank You for the calling on my life. I live for You, my life is Yours. Amen.

A New Covenant, a New Blessing
Isaiah 8, Isaiah 9, Isaiah 10, Hebrews 8
Scripture:
Hebrews 8:10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
Observation:
I am so blessed to be a part of the new covenant of God. This covenant is better than the old one and is part of the wonderful inheritance I have in Jesus Christ resurrection and my salvation. I am a new creation, living in a new covenant relationship with God. God is my God and He calls me His child. I am no longer a stranger to God, a mere sinner, He knows my Name and He watches over me. He has a plan and a purpose for my life and calls me to follow His ways.
Application:
More and more I am starting to understand what the Lord is calling me too. More and more I hear the call to separate myself unto Him. I know that the cost of the call on my life is deep. There are still many insecurities, fears and frustrations that hold me back from what the Lord has called me too. I stand as one ready. I feel a tremendous peace over me, almost like a pawn in the hand of the Maker. He will make the next move, He knows what He is doing and I need not fear, for we have already won. In this season of unknowns, I out my faith in the One that knows all things. I will not waver, I will not give in. I will stand firm on Christ my solid rock. No matter what the people around me are up to, no matter what the motives and opinions of me are, I keep my eyes on the prize, Jesus. I live for an audience of One!
Prayer:
Father my prayer is simple. Lead me. Navigate my life through this desert season. I have so often looked up to men and realize that season has ended. You are my shepherd and I will follow. I pray for favor, wisdom, discernment and clarity. I pray for restoration, elevation and multiplication. Help me to walk with integrity, righteousness and faithfulness. I forgive those who hurt me, and release them unto You. They know no better. I pray for Robert my friend at Safeway and ask You to bless him. I pray for my wife this day and pray that Your wisdom, protection and discernment would guide her. I pray that she would never be taken for granted or used as a trophy. Keep her close to You. I pray for tomorrows car wash and all the money we need to raise. I know that You are our source and that You will make a way for every kid that needs help to go. Give us favor Father. May we work as a team and pull of a great day. I pray for the Mexico and LA trip and ask You to prepare the way for us. Lord use us for Your glory. Lord, I love You. Amen.

Amen.

The balance of Word and Faith
Hosea 10, Hosea 11, Hosea 12, Psalm 73, Hebrews 4
Scripture:
Psalm 73:28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.
Hebrews 4:2For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.
Observation:
Psalm 73:28 is the perfect verse for the season of my life. I want to be near to the Lord. I want to hear His voice and walk in step with Him. I sense Him close and know that my heart is changing. He is removing things from my life and His love is amazing. God is my refuge and as I journalled yesterday, He is building my life. In Hebrews I am reminded that the letter of the word is of no value, it is simply logos, written word. By the Rhema, revelation word that activates my faith bring about the power of God and the breakthrough needed. It is not simply good enough to hear the word, one must add faith to it.
Application:
This morning I had a great revelation. It may seem simple, yet in my spirit there is an explosion. Faith plus the word bring about the power of God. One needs a healthy balance of both. One needs to be growing in both. I see alot fo people that know the word, but they faith and belive in the power of the Holy Spirit is minimal. So they have alot of head knowledge, but no fruit. Then i see the opposite. A lot of people with crazy Holy Spirit faith but not wisdom when it comes to the word of God. The result is they do not know the boundaries and principles of the word and they run on emotions. I have lived and operated in both camps. I must grow in my knowledge of the word of God, that is why studing is so important. At the same time I must grow in my faith. This is where the time in the presence of the Holy Spirit is needed. Times of refreshing, seperation, repetance and obedience. I desire to see miracles, healings, and the power of God move throughout the world. At the same time though I desire t see a balance fo teaching and the word of God. I sense it is coming into my life. I can feel the Holy Spirit stiring me this morning. I must step put in faith and spreak the word with power.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit I know Your presence well. I know You are speaking to me today. I can sense You are close and You are working in my life. I know You are stripping away the things that do not please my Father. I pray today for Hebrews 4:3 to be released over my life. I want to be a man that flows in the power of the Holy Spirit, in the anointing, yet preaches the word with great revelation. Father I pray that You would anoint me, that You would open my eyes to Your word and Your power. I want to see Your kingdom move throughout the world. I am a simple man, nothing flashy, but I know it is not about me. Here I am, send me. I pray for restoration, elevation and multiplication to happen in my life. I thank You today that You are close to me. I thank You that You are my refuge and my tower. I pray for wisdom today to lead. I pray for guidance and discernment to know Your will. I pray for all that needs to get done today. I pray for sensitivity. Father bless this day. Bless my wife, my home and my finances. Teach me to steward wisely the seed You give me. Forgive me for times of wasting finances. Bless my family and my friends. Bless my friend Josh and Michelle and guide them in wisdom. Fill them with patience. I thank You for this day, for this is the day the Lord has made.
Amen.

God is Author of a man's life
Hosea 6, Hosea 7, Hosea 8, Hosea 9, Hebrews 3
Scripture:
Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
Hebrews 3:15 As has just been said:
"Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion."
Observation:
Two amazing passages hit me today. The first in Hebrews 3:4 is a great reminder that without God, I can never walk in the 'God designed life' I am called to walk in. I might have my own plans, ideas and make my own decisions, but without God in the center, it is all vein.
The second passage I choose was in Hebrews 3:25, it is a great reminder of the price one pays for rebellion and sin. God never planned for Israel to spend 40 years in the desert, that was the consequence for their sin. Sin always has a consequence, even though forgiveness and grace is given by God, there is always a consequence.
Application:
Today I am reminded that without God I am nothing. With that in mind, I must seek His will and discipline myself to not step out of His ways. Temptation will always be thrown my way, but the question is will I resist it and keep my focus on the Lord. The devil knows my weaknesses and he will apply pressure in the midst of the valleys in my life. I must always remind myself of what Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." God will always have a plan to lead me out of tough trials and tribulations. I must keep my focus. Yesterday I watched to great sport heroes, Tiger Woods and Roger Federer. Both of them one their tournaments. What set them apart was that they dug deep and focused on the task at hand. They did not give one inch to what their bodies were telling them. I must dig deep in trials and walk the way my Savior Jesus walked. This is maturity, this is partaking in the sufferings of Christ, this is carrying my cross.
Prayer:
Father thank You for the great reminder today that I can rest in You. Sometimes I wander how on earth the big dreams and vision you have spoken over my life will happen, then I remember that it is nothing on earth that will make it happen. Only You can. You hold my future. You are building me up. I come before You today and ask You to forgive my hardened heart. Forgive my pride, my double mindedness, and my selfishness. I pray for the Holy Spirit to wash me clean today and for a new heart to be restored unto me. Lord prepare me, mold me, change my thoughts and my ways. I know the time is now. Here I am, ready to follow. I am Yours.
Amen.

Keeping my heart clean
Isaiah 1, Isaiah 2, Isaiah 3; Titus 3
Scripture:
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
Titus 3:1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
Observation:
I am reminded today of the incredible price Jesus paid to fulfill Isaiah 1:18. He gave His life in exchange for my freedom and righteousness. No work on my behalf could ever pay for the penalty of my sin. I am called to live out of reverence for what He has done. I must never allow myself to take the grace of God for granted. In Titus I am reminded to live with the qualities of submission to authorities over me, to live a lifestyle of obedience, to do whatever is good, to refrain from gossip and to live in peace and humility.
Application:
Titus 3 challenges me to guard my heart. As I read this passage I reflected on one of my mentors, Pastor Wayne. He is a man that walks in humility and always puts others first. His speech always encourages one to dream bigger and to live for Jesus Christ. I must guard myself from falling into the trap of the big church mentality. The showmanship and all the glits and glamor. It is so easy to miss the mark and to live for oneself and to appease one's insecurities. My identity is not found in those around me, yes affirmation is a good thing, but ultimately my identity comes for the Lord. I must continue to guard my heart fro ulterior motives, gossip, anger, impure thoughts and most of all selfishness.
Prayer:
Father thank You for all You are doing in my life and for all the blessings. I pray today for a pure heart and for the washing of the Holy Spirit. Renew my mind and heart, make me clean. Forgive my pride and arrogance, for they oppose and resist You. There is nothing good in my flesh. I am righteous because of You. Thank You for wisdom today, discernment and humility to lead today. Help me to do the things that please You and point others to You. I pray for my team and ask You to bless them and to guide them in their lives. Bless my pastors today and refresh them. I pray for our church and ask You to bless every member. Raise up Your people in these tough economical times. I pray for my friend Josh and his family and ask You to bless and make the path smooth. Bless the band today too and continue t mold and shape their hearts. Thank You for my wife and for the incredible partner she is. Bless her and refresh her today by Your spirit. Give her the songs of heaven and anoint her to lead Your people. Thank You for another day, may I use it ti serve You, Amen.
