Uncomprehendable

Nehemiah 9,10; Acts 2

Scripture:
Nehemiah 9:17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them, 18 even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said, 'This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,' or when they committed awful blasphemies.

Observation:
What a great reminder of the goodness of God. God never forgets us, He is always watching over us. He is always good to us, even though we turn our backs on Him so often. God is quick to forgive, slow to anger, and His love and mercies are new each day. As I reflect on this, I find it amazing that people still refuse to accept God.

Application:
My wife wrote a song a week ago and part of the chorus goes like this, "cause Your love for me, get You stick on me." The first time I heard it, I was not sure of the words, and it seemed to make God seem weak, but the more I meditate on it, the more I realize how true those words are. God loves me so much and His love is pure. I cannot comprehend it, because as a sinful man, I too often give love as a reward for something good done to me. There seems to still be motives in me for loving, and i guess that is all part of the human element of sin and flesh. God on the other hand loves us even when we don't love Him, and He blesses us, even when we curse Him. I can't wait to stand before my God, it is going to be an incredible and intense experience, as my mind and heart cannot fathom the depths of His love. All I can say is that it is an honor to be a child of God. I pray that I would not take the goodness, the blessings, the forgiveness and the love of God for granted.

Prayer:
Father thank You! Thank You for loving me, for forgiving me and for washing me clean this morning. Thank You for always taking care of me and for saying no when You have something better for me. To often I treat You like a spoiled brat, forgive me for my flesh and wicked ways. I thank You for watching over me, for always being there for me and for working things out for me. I pray today for wisdom, discernment, patience, guidance of the Holy Spirit. I pray for energy and stewardship of my energy to get the work done that I need to get done. I ask You to bless me this day and to guide me closer to the plans and purposes You have for me. Bless my wife this day, refresh her and give her wisdom for her meetings. Calm her heart and give her faith to believe You for an answer. Give her leaders wisdom too. I thank You for this week and I ask You to bless our upcoming Thunder youth conference. Bless every speaker, performer and may many young people's life's be impacted. I thank You for Your love and grace today, may i walk worthy of this precious gift.
