Job 6,7,8; Acts 12
Scripture:
JOb 7:17 "What is man that you make so much of him,
that you give him so much attention,
18 that you examine him every morning
and test him every moment?
Acts 12: 21On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. 22They shouted, "This is the voice of a god, not of a man." 23Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.
Observation:
I love how Job ask God the question of why He focuses so much on man. The faithfulness of God, His eyes over us and His hand moving consistently on our behalf is too much for me to comprehend. It is sad for me at times when I forget this and walk mad at God, frustrated at Him for not doing things my way. Herod made a fatal mistake, He did not point the people to God, instead he loved their praise and declaration of himself as a god. No man will steal God's glory!
Application:
As I sit and think on the goodness of God, the mercies of God, the promises of God and the blessings of covenant, I realize the need for me to grow more in peace and faith. To often I stress out or get concerned over simple things. I need to grow in faith so I can stand in trials and faith for bigger things. God has spoken powerful words over my life, and these words require faith and obedience. I know it is not in my power or ability, but it does require obedience and faith. I know God is teaching me peace and patience, I still have a little vagabond spirit in me. I'm learning to old things loosely and to wait on the Lord. I am learning to dream big and see what He has planned for me. I'm learning to stand in faith, believing and trusting more in God and less in myself. Herod lacked humility, pride took his life. Pride so easily robs a man of his destiny and position. God will not let any man steal His glory. I must always remember that no matter where God takes me, the greatest leader is the greatest servant! This principle will guard my heart and keep me from failing.
Prayer:
God, I thank You for this new day and for Your peace. Help me today to find a rhythm for my life. Help me to slow down and lead more effectively. Give me wisdom on what's important and what's not. I pray today for favor and blessing. I pray for urgency and our conference and ask You to bless it. I pray for a harvest of souls and for healing to take place. Bless this event, convict our students to come and to bring their friends. I pray for a breakthrough at urgency. I pray for a freshness and joy to fill our students. Watch over them today and draw them close to You. Bless my team and refresh them. Guide them by Your hand. I pray for every volunteer leader and ask You to anoint them and bless them, do miracles in their lives. I pray for my wife today and for Outcry. Lord guide us and open the right doors. Give us wisdom and discernment to know Your will and Your ways. I pray for an anointing, a new and powerful anointing to touch the band. May they lead people into the presence of God like never before. Bless them Father and protect them. I pray for my wife and that this week new songs will be written, Your songs. Bless her I pray. Thank You for speaking to me today, I am blessed to know that You are holding me and guiding me in the plans You have for me.
Amen.
Quote for this Season
