Running my own 'Race'

Leviticus 20; Leviticus 21; Leviticus 22; Acts 20

Scripture:
Acts 20: 24However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Observation:
Paul was a man of utter devotion to the Lord. He lived fully devoted to the things of God. Paul faced many hardships, yet he persevered. Paul’s statement reveals to us his passion and strength. His life was not his own, and his life was sold out for the mission, ‘race’, the Lord had called him too. This devotion and focus challenges me this morning. How is my heart towards the mission Christ has giving me. How focused am I? What hardship am I willing to endure for my Lord?

Application:
This morning I sense a realignment of my soul to the calling in front of me. I know I have been super busy and that has caused me to be a little weary. I know a season of rest is upon me and this will be a great time to hear from the Lord about the next stage of the ‘race’. I am committed to the calling the Lord has given me, that has never been an issue, but the pace at which I run sometimes gets me in trouble and close to burnout. I am grateful the Lord choose me and set me apart for His work, it is an honor and carries a heavy responsibility. It is a joy and there is nothing I would rather be doing. It is true, that when you run the race the Lord has set before you, there is no greater joy in life!

Prayer:
Father thank You for the race You called me to run. Give me wisdom and coach me on how to run and a good pace. I do not want to lag behind and I do not want to run to far ahead. I desire to be in step with You. Guide me today, speak to me and refresh me according to Your precious Holy Spirit. Renew my heart, mind and soul. I pray for wisdom today, favor and discernment. May I build Your kingdom today. I pray for Your words to flow through me tonight as I share to our youth. Open their hearts to Your word. Bring revelation to them. I pray for every student of urgency today, may they be set apart for Your will. Bless them and keep them close to You. Bless every volunteer leader and refresh them by Your spirit. I thank You for this day, it is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Amen.
