A New Day

Isaiah 60; Isaiah 61; Isaiah 62; John 1

Scripture:
Isaiah 60: 1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.

2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.

3 Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

4 "Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
and your daughters are carried on the arm.

Observation:

Isaiah’s prophecy declares God’s anointing and favor over His people. He will raise them up and make them a blessing to the nations. They will be drawn to the people of God because if the goodness of God. Their eyes will be open and they will stand amazed. Many will come to see the glory of the Lord and there will be prosperity in the land.

Application:
As I read this passage this morning I though of urgency. I began to see urgency as a light in the nation of the glory and blessing of God. I saw the darkness lift over urgency and the light of God come in. I believe that many will come and see what God is doing at urgency. I know that we have been faithful and that the Lord is going to do a big work in us all. I saw it start at the Dream Center and believe that God is going to take it to a new and higher level. I pray that I would lead well and be found fit to lead. I pray that my heart would be humble and that it would keep God first and in no way seek self. There are to many young people that are messed up and need God in their lives. There are too many young people that are hurting and need the love of God to bring healing in their lives. I must lead the way. It must start with me, I cannot coach from the sidelines. I believe it is a new day and the glory of the Lord is going to fill the house.

Prayer:
Father lead me in Your steps. I know the steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord. I know I am righteous only because the blood of Jesus. I ask You therefore to order my steps and to lead me. I pray for wisdom and discernment in this time. I pray for favor and anointing to flow. I pray for the darkness and reputation of urgency to be broken and for there to be an incredible revival. Lord raise us up, so that Your glory can be revealed. Make us a light to this nation. I stand before You in all humility today and ask You Jesus to lead us. Thank You for all You have done. As Isaiah 61 declares, the anointing to preach the word, bind up the broken hearted and heal the sick, Lord I ask for that anointing to flow.
Thank You for this new day. I pray for favor and wisdom to do what needs to get done. I pray for the right attitude and spirit in which to do it.
Bless my team today and refresh them.
Amen.

God's great love and redemption

Isaiah 57; Isaiah 58; Isaiah 59; Psalm 103; 2 Peter 3

Scripture:
Psalm 103: 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Observation:
This chapter of Psalms reveals Gods incredible love for us. He has shown us so much grace and mercy and His promises for us are so great. He removes our sins and the guilt thereof as far as the east is from the west. He restores our joy, love and peace. There truly is none like our God.

Application:
This passage is so powerful. God’s love for me is so incredible. I do not have to earn it or work for it. No, as a result of His incredible love for me I desire to live a holy and righteous life. I want to please Him, because He has done so much for me. He has blessed me and restores me to son-ship. My sins are removed and I walk in the blessing and promises of God. I do not have to fear Him and hide from Him. No, instead of running from Him, I can now run to Him. What a joy I have found in my life. God, You truly are amazing and I am so blessed to be Your son. Thank You.

Prayer:
Father thank You for forgiveness and redemption. Jesus You paid a heavy price for these blessings in my life. I pray that my life will be one of faithfulness, holiness and righteousness. I pray that my life would bring honor to My Father and His kingdom. Lord give me the right heart to lead today. Remove the impurities in my heart and renew a right spirit within me. I pray today for wisdom, discernment and favor. I pray for urgency today and for all those who went to Dream Center. Lord let the fire burn deep within their hearts. Take them to new levels and raise them up as mighty warriors for Your kingdom. I pray for the Mexico trip and ask You to bless this trip and bring back a group as fired up as the LA group. Father I thank You for all You are doing and for the incredible year we are about to have. I know all this comes from You. I pray for favor on my house and wife. Without You life is meaningless. Without You we cannot make the visions for our lives. Without You there is no true joy, peace and love. This day show me Your finger prints on my life. I love and bless Your holy name.
Amen.

God's Discipline

Isaiah 22; Isaiah 23; Isaiah 24; Hebrews 12

Scripture:
Hebrews 12: 28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our "God is a consuming fire."

Observation:

The whole chapter of Hebrews 12 calls one to righteousness and holiness, for without these one will not see the Lord. God will discipline those He loves so that through discipline and correction, sin will be dealt with and true repentance will arise. Jesus paid a heavy price for the sin of mankind and we are to walk worthy of our new calling.

Application:
There have been seasons in my life where the Lord has disciplined me and it was not fun, but in the end I am came out a better man of God. No one loves discipline, especially discipline from the Lord, because there is no way out, you have to do through it. I remember times where it hurt so much, times of anger with the Lord, times of rejecting Him and trying to hide, but one thing was always true of those times, God never left me and He never stopped loving me. What an awesome Father I serve, He loves me, and that’s why at times He disciplines me. I am a better man today because of His patience, pruning and love. Some day I might be a father, and I pray that when that time comes, that I too will discipline in love. Discipline is good and it’s the proof of ones love. I am thankful Father.

Prayer:
Father thank You for all the times of rebuking and discipline. I don’t believe I have ever thanked You for them. I pray that I would stand righteous and holy before You. As this passage stated, that without holiness, one will not see You. I want to see You, I want t be close to You and I know You seek righteousness in me. Father thank You for a good week, and for using me so effectively in the pulpit. I pray for every heart that was touched and I pray for breakthroughs in their life’s I pray for protection of Your people and that they too would embrace You discipline. Change my heart Lord, and make it more like You. I pray for my wife today and ask You to bless her. Thank You for the blessing she is to me. I pray for favor over her life and clear direction. I pray for the urgency missions trips today and I ask You for a financial miracle, help us meet every need. I pray for incredible breakthroughs in the life’s of our young people. I pray for urgency today and I ask You to raise up a generation of worshippers, a generation that is righteous and passionate about the things of the world. I generation that is focused on kingdom living. Father touch the hearts of our youth and make them a blessing to all those around them. I pray for my family back in South Africa today and ask You to bless them. I pray for my parents house to be sold and for their price to be met. I pray the same for Chris and his wife that their house would be sold. Give him peace. Father, I pray this day for wisdom, discernment and favor. Help me to do what needs to be done today so that I can lead Your people. I pray all this in Your Holy Name.
Amen.

Faith in God

Isaiah 19; Isaiah 20; Isaiah 21; Hebrews 11

Scripture:

Hebrews 11: 1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Hebrews 11: 6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Observation:
Faith is the key that unlocks the things of God. Faith in Jesus is the key to salvation. Faith in God and His promises positions one to receive the supernatural. All the great men of God in the bible believed and their faith pleased God and placed them in a position of receiving all God had for them.

Application:
I must be one that dreams, speaks and lives by faith. Faith pleased God and without faith you will never reach the vision. The vision that God has placed in my life is way to big for my capabilities and potential. God’s vision in me demands faith, obedience and righteous living. It starts with me, as the head of urgency, I must be one that lives by faith, I must be one that believe and calls things out. My faith and my lifestyle must please God. The bible says that God rewards faith, He pours out his favor on those who live by faith.

Prayer:

Father thank You for all that You have done in my life. Thank You that faith in You pleases You and lines me up with Your will. I pray that my life will match my faith. Holy Spirit reveal to me the things in my life that do not please the Father. I thank You for forgiveness, grace and mercy. I pray that my life would please You. I pray for favor and blessing in my life, I know that without Your favor, anointing and blessing, I will not reach the vision You have given me. I thank You too for the vision you have given me. Help me to lead well and to be sensitive to the steps You have placed in front of me. Father bless this day and make me a blessing to those around me.
Amen.

Jesus my High Priest

Isaiah 11; Isaiah 12; Isaiah 13; Isaiah 14; Hebrews 9

Scriptures:
Hebrews 9:12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Observation:
The blood of Jesus that was shed at the cross has paid the price for sin and death. Jesus went into the Holy of Holies and He poured His blood on the mercy seat. From this point on there was no need for animal sacrifice. Mankind could receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and from now on the blood of Jesus would cleanse man kind from sin for eternity. Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant and He has become the Lord and Savior of mankind.

Application:

I am a sinner and will struggle with sin until the day I step into eternity with Christ. My heart still has a sin nature within it. I am so blessed to think of what Jesus has done for me. Not only does He forgive me when I ask, but He has sent the Holy Spirit to partner with me in overcoming the power of sin. Jesus defeat sin and I do not have to be bound to sin anymore. I am now free and can embrace all the God has for me. Jesus has done it all for me and I am so blessed and honored to be a child of God. There truly is none like Jesus and there never will be. I now live in the grace, mercy and freedom of Christ. He is my reason for life, He is my joy, He is my everything. I pray that my life will now honor Him and please Him.

Prayer:
Thank You Jesus for all that You have done for me. I am blessed and free because of all that You have done for me. I pray the power of the Holy Spirit to help me live in the freedom of Christ. Thank You Holy Spirit that You are with me and You guide me. I ask for forgiveness for the times where I have walked apart from You or in disobedience. I pray for favor tomorrow as I share to the Youth and pray for mighty breakthrough’s. Thank You for last night and all the life’s that were touched. Be with my wife tomorrow and anoint her to bring people into Your presence. I pray for favor with her leading, may the team be one and may her voice be powerful. Heal her voice. Be with Pastor and use him too, refresh him and anoint him with a fresh anointing. Thank You for all the blessings in my life. I am honored to be Your child.
Amen.

God is in control

Hosea 13; Hosea 14; Psalm 100; Psalm 101; Psalm 102; Hebrews 5

Scripture:
Psalm 100: 3 Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Observation:
This Psalm acknowledges the goodness and greatness of God. When we come into His presence we should come with thanksgiving and praise. A lot of the times we come into His presence with burdens, sadness or heaviness. Verse 3 reminds us that God has made us, that He is in control of our life’s and that He will work it all out, for we are His sheep.

Application:
What a great reminder for me this morning that God is in control and that He is going to work the next steps of my life out for me. Sometimes life through you a curve ball and it is easy to get down and out. The heaviness you experience robs the joy and praise out of your heart and entering the presence of God is the last thing on your mind. It is in these times that I must remember that God is in control and that He will work it all out for me. God thought of me before He placed me in my mothers womb. God called me to ministry and ordained me. I am one of His sheep and He will meet every need that arises because He is leading me in the steps He planned for my life. He knows what is around the corner and He has already worked it out. What an incredible God I serve!

Prayer:
Thank You Father for Your goodness and faithfulness. Thank You Father for the plans You have for my life, plans to prosper me and make me a blessing to the nations. I thank You that You have it all figured out and that I do not need to stress about what is next. I rest in You this morning and pray for wisdom and discernment to hear Your voice. Guide me and help me to fulfill all that You have for me today. Holy Spirit I am listen to You, speak to me today. I pray for blessings and breakthroughs today Father. Help me to walk worthy of the calling and in integrity of heart. Bless my team and help us to achieve a lot this week. I pray all this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Guard Your Heart (2)

Hosea 10; Hosea 11; Hosea 12; Psalm 73; Hebrews 4

Scripture:
Psalm 73: 13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain,
And washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all day long I have been plagued,
And chastened every morning.

Psalm 73: 25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
26 My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Observation:
This Psalm reveals the frustration of a godly man. He lives for God and yet cannot see an breakthroughs in his life. All he sees is the wicked being blessed and enjoying life, while he is suffering and living a holy life for God. He gets frustrated with God and takes it out on himself by being more religious and disciplined in his lifestyle. In the end though as he sits in the presence of God, he realizes that the end of the wicked is not prosperity and joy, but sadness and death. He realizes that God is being gracious with them, and that his heart has not been right before the Lord. His final response is truly humble and righteous, “But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” If all he has is God, then that is good enough!

Application:
I love how the Psalmist goes through a variety of emotions and finally ends up at the feet of God in humility and devotion. I relate to this guy, because many a time I too have looked at the prosperity of the wicked and complained on how it should be me. I am a child of God, I should be blessed, popular and stress free. Yet I worry about bills, finances, relationships etc, etc. I am realizing more and more that I have the greatest treasure ever, and that is God. Like the parallel in the book of Matthew, the man finds the pearl of great rice and sell everything to get it. I have the ‘pearl of great price’, I have the greatest riches ever, I have Jesus! He is my strength! He is my everything! He is my joy, my peace, my comfort, my source, He is my everything! All the ‘stuff’ people have will not go to heaven. All the earthly richest will fade away, but my Jesus, Him I will have for eternity. So next time I look at some one with a lot of richest, maybe I should look for Jesus in their lives, and if I don’t see Him, then maybe I should start to pray for them like never before.

Prayer:

Father thank You for the reminder that You are all I need. It is so easy to get distracted with the stuff of life and business. I pray that my heart would be pure before You. Forgive me for the times where the lust of the flesh and the pride of life kick in. I know You are all I need and I pray that my heart would never be consumed with stuff and riches. I thank You that my reward is in heaven, and that is where my concern should be. The only thing I take with me to heaven are people, people I have reached for You. Thank You for all the financial blessing in my life. Thank You for all the miracles and prosperity that You have sent my way. I am blessed and honored to be where I am at in life. I know it all comes from Your hand. I pray for humility, integrity and righteousness to bind my heart. I pray today for wisdom, discernment, refreshing and vision. I pray for an ear that clearly hears the voice of the Holy Spirit. Father bless my wife this day and refresh her. Release the songs of heaven into her heart. Bless my pastor on his trip and refresh him too. Thank You for my friends Josh and Michelle, bless their marriage, kids, home and callings. I pray for favor over them and for incredible doors to open. Lord elevate them to a position they never dreamed of. I pray for my family today, I pray for Dad’s house to sell and for the purchase of the new house. I ask You to bless my parents and show them Your faithfulness. I pray for Pa, Ma and Derick. Bless them and fill them with joy, peace, wisdom and love. I pray for the farms and building business, I ask for supernatural favor and breakthroughs. Father those are Your men and I pray for doors to open.
I thank You for all these things and I know Your ear has been open this morning to hearing them. I thank You for this day and pray that I would please You with it.
Amen

Partaking of the Covenant Blessings

Hosea 2; Hosea 3; Hosea 4; Hosea 5; Hebrews 2

Scripture:
Hebrews 2: 14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Observation:
Those who partake in the flesh and blood of Jesus, speaking of communion, have identified their need of Jesus as a Savior. They partake of the covenant which Jesus died for on the cross. And through faith in Jesus Christ, the are free from the power of eternal death and the devil. Sin has no hold over those who partake in the covenant of Jesus.

Application:
The word ‘partake’ stands out for me today. To partake of something means you have made a choice to do something. You have surrendered your will to something, you are aligning to something. I see so many Christian miss out on the blessings of God because they are partaking in things that are not of God. They have their energies, commitments and devotion focused on something else. Jesus promises us a new covenant full of blessings. I desire everything this covenant has to offer me. As I reflect on this passage today I am challenged to evaluate my life and see where my love, devotions and energies are spent. Am I partaking 100% in the covenant relationship I have with Jesus. Sad to say there are still areas of my life that need to be surrendered. This does not mean I am far from Jesus, just that the Holy Spirit is reveal the little things that steal the blessings of God from my life. God desires to bless me and make me a blessing to all those around me, and the devil wants to stop this from happening. I am so blessed to think and meditate on the grace, mercy and compassion of Christ. Just when I think I am arriving in my faith the Holy Spirit reveals an area that needs attention. I am so glad God is patient with me and He is molding me into the man He has called me to be. I am still a work in progress and I continue to partake of the wonderful covenant relationship with King Jesus.

Prayer:

Thank You Father for this word today and the reminder that You are working it all out in my life. Thank You for grace, mercy and forgiveness. Thank You most of all for the unconditional love that You show me each and every day. I am blessed to partake in this incredible covenant which you Jesus gave to me. I am blessed to be called a son of God and blessed to have the Holy Spirit in my life. Father mold me into the man You desire me to be. Reveal to me the areas I need to grow in. Show me the things that please You. I pray for my pastors today, Pastor Dick and Adam and ask You to bless their fishing trip. Give them good rest and refreshing. Be with my wife and I today and refresh us with Your peace and joy. Thank You for the miracles that You are doing in our lives and all that is to come. I bless Your Holy Name and declare that there is none like You. Amen.

Affirming the Team

Isaiah 6; Isaiah 7; 2 Chronicles 26; 2 Chronicles 27; Philemon 1

Scripture:
Philemon1: 17 If then you count me as a partner, receive him as you would me. 18 But if he has wronged you or owes anything, put that on my account. 19 I, Paul, am writing with my own hand. I will repay—not to mention to you that you owe me even your own self besides.

Observation:

Paul speaks highly of Onesimus, a young man he has mentored. Paul sticks his neck out for him, believing in the call on his life. Paul instructs them to receive this man as they would him. Wow, Onesimus must have felt honored and humbled by his mentor Paul.

Application:
How do I see my team of leader and volunteers? Do I speak highly of them? I know I see them that way, but at the same time I could do a better job of honoring them in front of others. I must be more sensitive to honoring my leaders and staff. A good leader honors others and makes sure that the win is the teams win. Paul raised up great leaders and he was willing to put his leadership and reputation on the line.

Prayer:
Father I pray for my leaders and staff today, I ask You to bless them and refresh them. I pray for a spiritual refreshing for each one of them. Bless them and pour out Your favor on them. I pray that their joy will be filled as they serve You through their gifts at urgency. I pray that I would be a better leader to them and lead with greater sensitivity. I pray for urgency today and ask You to bless us. I pray for the up coming missions trips and ask You to prepare the trips for us. I pray for breakthroughs and the power of the Holy Spirit to touch the lives of our young people. Thank You for Your goodness and blessings over me and Cindy. I thank You for all You all doing.
Amen.

God's Goodness

Isaiah 1; Isaiah 2; Isaiah 3; Titus 3

Scripture:
Titus 3: 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Observation:
What a great reminder that God has called us to be His heirs to the kingdom of heaven and eternal life. We deserve to be judged and sentenced to eternity in hell for our sins, but the grace and mercy of God was poured out for us through the cross of Jesus. Now we are called to live under the mentoring of the Holy Spirit. He will mentor us in righteousness, compassion and the will the Lord has planned for our lives.

Application:

This morning I am so grateful for the grace and mercy of God. I am so blessed for the cross of Jesus and the compassion that flowed from it. I am so thankful for all that God has done for me, and all that He has planned for me. I am so honored to be called an heir of Christ. I pray that I would live by my inheritance, the Holy Spirit. I still live a life that misses out on the goodness of God. There is still so much for me to learn when it comes to a leaders heart. I need the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life. I need His voice and direction. I need His wisdom and discernment in my life. I pray for a closer walk with the Holy Spirit and it starts with me. It starts with my obedience, hunger and choices. The vision in front of me is so clear, but for the vision to happen, I have to become the man that God has called me to be. I have to become a man of integrity, righteousness, compassion, purpose and faithfulness. I pray that these would increase in my life.

Prayer:
Father thank You for the reminder today of the incredible gift You have given me. I do not know where I would be without the Holy Spirit. I pray and ask You Holy Spirit to lead me in the steps planned for my life. Holy Spirit guide and mentor me. I pray for elevation in my life. I ask for the favor of God to go before me. I pray for wisdom to lead, and a heart that loves people with the love of Christ. Forgive me for selfishness and pride. Forgive me for letting insecurities rob me of opportunities. I pray for a steadfastness and boldness like the book of Acts. I pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to flow from my life like never before. Bless this day Father. Help me to walk in Your blessing and not miss out on all You have for me. I pray for my wife and ask You to bless her day too. Give her favor and anointing. Release new songs in her. I pray for her c.d. in LA and ask for favor. I pray for my team and ask You to bless them too. Refresh them and pour out Your favor on them. Thank You for Pastor Dick this day. I pray for healing of his body and refresh of his soul. Thank You for the new passion and vision in him. Elevate him higher than his ever been and open huge doors for him. I pray for Pastor Adam this day too. Bless him and fill him with the leadership wisdom of Solomon. Give him the strength to stand strong for Jubilee and pour out Your favor and blessing on his life. Bless his home and family. I thank You Father for all these things and pray them in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
